A photograph is a most important document, and there is nothing more damning to go down to posterity than a silly, foolish smile caught and fixed forever.

Long since lost, many family items such as diaries, documents, registers, scrapbooks, postcards and yearbooks find their way to antique shops, flea markets, musty basements.

In doing your family research have you come upon an old will, found pictures or a family bible mentioned in the list of personal items, and wondered what became of them?  Dont you wish you could find the items mentioned?  Have you been looking for some of your family's old photos or the  family bible?

On the other hand have you ever spotted vintage photos, a family bible or other family memorabilia at while browsing thru an antique store, garage sale, flea market, or auction and thought, I'll bet someone is looking for this.  You're right; they probably are.

This section is meant to change both of the above scenarios.  Those wonderful old photos, letters, documents, memorabilia and artifacts which once belonged to our ancestors should be shared with others.  In that vein, the following pages are dedicated to reuniting families with memorabilia their Wyoming ancestors left behind.

One of the best ways to find those missing family heirlooms, images and artifacts is by using online resources. There are plenty of Web sites that attempt to reunite individuals with family items and pictures.  Unfortunately, Wyoming is not one of the well-represented states.   Hopefully, this site will change all that.  If you have "mystery" Wyoming memorabilia that you would like to share with others, please do so here.

At this time, I do not have a limit on how many photos that can be posted on this site. Also, I'll be happy to link to your pages if you have a webpage of your own with Wyoming-related heirlooms.

If you have found an orphaned Wyoming family treasure and would like to reunite it with family members, please read the submissions FAQ page. The item(s) will be posted behind one of the links below as an adoptable family treasure.

Please expect to email me when a successful "return to family" has been completed so the item can be annotated as "returned" in the database. Include item "name," "description" as well as your email address and comments regarding the "return" that you might like to pass on.  In this way the database can be kept current.

If you are seeking family items, please contact me, and email the Wyoming-associated list of items that you're searching for, along with your name and e-mail address.   I will enter your request on a page specifically built for that purpose.

If you wish to adopt a picture or an item that has been posted, understand that the adoption fee will include the price paid for the item plus postage to send it.  Should the current owner not possess a scanner and had to make a photocopy, then snail-mail it to me to get the image posted, these additional costs will be included the adoption fee.

If you find an item here that belongs in your family, please contact the submitter directly to make arrangements for its return.
