Services for Jewel Fry Adams, 73, of Marshall were held at 2 pm on Monday,
Aug 27, 2001 at the Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel on Travis Street. The
Rev. Bob Kelley officiated.
Ms. Adams died Saturday in a Longview hospital. She was born on June 12,
1928 in Tatum to Prespey and Molly Cook Fry.

the Rev. Jesse R. Alexander, 74, of Henderson will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday,
Aug. 16, 2001 at Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Darrel Owens and the
Rev. Bobby Sparks officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery. The Rev.
Alexander died Monday, Aug. 13, 2001 in Shreveport. Visitation is 6-8 p.m.

Services for the Rev. Lee Roy Anderson Jr., 50, of Carthage will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 12, 2001, at Jimerson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Scott, the Rev. Carl Anderson and the Rev. Allan Moore officiating. Burial will be in Youngblood Cemetery in Beckville. Rev. Anderson died Thursday, August 09, 2001. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. today, August 11, 2001, at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Rev. Lee Roy Anderson, Jr., 50, of Carthage, will be held at 3 pm Sunday, August 12, 2001 at Jimerson Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Bob Scott, Carl Anderson, and Allan Moore will officiate. Interment will follow at Youngblood Cemetery in Beckville. Arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson Funeral Home. He passed away Thursday after a brief illness at the local hospital.
Anderson was born on Feb. 24, 1951 to Lee Roy and Emma Doris Heard Anderson, Sr. in Carthage where he was raised. He was married to Elsa Terante Anderson and preached for four years at Good Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Henderson and then became the minister of Buncombe Freewill Baptist Church where he preached from 1979 to 1988.
At present, Anderson has been the minister for the past 14 years at Mt. Union Freewill Baptist Church in Garrison. He served several terms as the Moderator of Freewill District Association and is a current Credential Committee member and the past chairman. His company, True Form Concrete Contractor of Carthage, also kept him busy.
He proudly served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was in active duty for 18 of those months. Anderson established the “Bypassed American Veterans Organization”. Family and close friends called him “Uncle Bull’. He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Elsa Anderson, of Carthage; daughter, Sheryl Jean Anderson, of Carthage; mother, Emma Doris Heard Anderson, of Carthage; brothers, Rev. Carl Anderson, of Carthage and Keith Anderson, of Crockett; sister and brother-in-law, Denise and Steve Coots, of Carthage; sister-in-law, Deanne Anderson, of Crockett; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Gaddy, Murvaul McGuire, Bobo Little, Kenneth Rector, Andy Favors, and Jimmy Glenn Anderson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gordon Tompkins, cousins and nephews.
Visitation with the family was held Saturday, August 11, 2001 from 6 to 8 pm at Jimerson Funeral Home.

Violet "Bessie" Williams Ball, 92, a resident of Silver City, passed
away Saturday, Aug 11, 2001 at the home of Howard and Bobbie Little. The funeral
service was held on Tuesday, Aug 14, 2001 at 2:00 pm.
She was born in Panola County TX on Nov 20, 1908 to A.B. (Alfred Banks) and
Pansy Williams who preceded her in d
