Heirs of William McGill to George Stephenson
State of South Carolina
Anderson District
Know all men by these presents that we Mary McGill and William Davis
and his
wife Jane H. Davis; Henry L. McGill; Samuel J. McGill; and Elenor M.
McGill
legal heirs and representations of William McGill late of the District
and
State afore said who died intestate in consideration of the sum of
Two
Hundred and Ten Dollars to us in hand paid by George Stephenson, Junior
of
the district and state aforesaid have granted bargained sold and released
and
by these presents do grant bargain sell and release unto the said George
Stephenson, Jun. A certain or parcel of land situated in the
district and
State aforesaid on the waters of Big Generostee bounding lands of James
Hardy
Abner the said George Stephenson, Junior and others containing Forty
Two
acres more or less being all that part of land where the said William
McGill
Died. Signed and possessed lying on the south west side of the
said
Stephenson Spring branch. Together with all and singular the
right members
here detachment and apprentances to the said premises belonging or
anywise
incident or apprentaining to have and hold and singular the premises
before
mentioned unto the said George Stephenson, Jun. his heirs and do hereby
bind
ourself our heirs executors and administers to warrent and forever
defend all
and singular the said premises unto the said George Stephenson, Jun.
his
heirs and assigns against any other person whom said lawfully claiming
or to
claim the said or any part there of.
Witness our hand and seal this Thirty First day of July in the year
of our
Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty Seven and in the Seventy
First year
of the American Independance.
Signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of George Stuart and Adam
Stuart.

Personally appeared George Stuart before me and made oath that he did
see the
witness did signed sealed for the use and purpose witness mentioned
and that
Adam Stuart was a subscribing witness of with himself to the same.
