Seneca River Baptist Association - 1982

Snow Hill Baptist Church

Snow Hill Baptist Church was organized by a group of God-fearing people in the 
1800's. Land was given in honor of Mr. Earle by Mr. Snow. The first meeting was 
held in a log cabin and later continued in a brush arbor. With the help of 
supporting persons, a church was built. It later burned. The church has burned 
three times, but each time it has been rebuilt.

The church has had several pastors. They were: Reverend D.C. Gaston of Georgia, 
Reverend Jackson of Tennessee, Reverend J.C. Chandler- Reverend Harrison 
Oglesby, Reverend A.B. Morton Reverend Sullivan, Reverend Steward, Reverend 
Gideon, Reverend Robinson, Reverend Bryan, Reverend Galloway and Reverend J.C. 
McDowell. Now pastoring is the Reverend A.B. Sherman of Greenville, South 
Carolina
