I have located 2 graves over on the Greenville county side of Pelzer that may 
tie into the town. I am trying to verify who is buried there. Did you know that 
there are makers buried near each white cross in the older Pelzer Cemetery?  we 
plan to unearth them and replace them on the graves. At that time we will 
attempt to read and record the information. Also that is the Wilson Family 
Cemetery and not the Pelzer Family Cemetery. The Wilson's owned the property 
from 1770s until the late 1840s.. they had 500 acres on the Saluda and ran a 
ferry and grist mill. We know several Wilson's are buried there according to 
family records and know that John Wilson Jr. is buried there.

The Wilson family Cemetery and holds John Wilson, Jr.'s grave as well as 
possible other family members and some Pelzer Residents buried between 1880 and 
1895sh. John Wilson died in 1828 and he served in the US House (3 terms) and 
well as the SC house (2Terms)... The cemetery may hold his father John Wilson Sr 
and his mother but no records exist to prove this. We know 2 of his family 
members are buried there. We found his GGG grandsons who put a memorial there 
last fall.
