Keenan, Thomas J.,77, of 614 Dewey Street, Martins Ferry, died in the
Martins Ferry Hospital at 1:15 p.m., Tuesday. He was admited at 12:30
p.m., Monday after accidently catching his clothing on fire. He was born
March 19, 1884 in Wheeling, West Virginia, a son of John and Elizabeth
Gamble Keenan. He was a retired roller in the tin mill at Washington,
Pa. Surviving are two sons, Howard and Thomas in Washington, Pa, one
daughter, Mrs. Mildred Krevas of Cleveland, two brothers; Robert of
Akron and Stewart of Wheeling, two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Burns of
Martis Ferry and Mrs. ary Bero of Wheeling. Friends may call at the
Keller Funeral Home in Martns Ferry after 7 o'clock tonight. (taken from

Widely Known Resident DIes in Gill Hospital Wednesday
Mrs. Mary Viola Keys, wife of W.J.Keys, 541 South Fourth Street, died at
the Gill hospital Wednesday at 11:20 p.m. She had been in poor health
six years and more critical the past six days.
She was born on Linden avenue and was 68 years of age January 4, 1939.
(her birth probably 1871). Her parents were Robert and Kate Johnson
Hoover, both deceased, who were early residents in this city. She was
married to Mr. Keys 46 years ago from December 27, 1938.(marriage 1892).
These children survive; Mabel, wife of George Mayhew of this city;
Charles and Bert at Toledo; four grandaughters Nellie, wife of Jerry
O'Day, and Hilda, wife of Harold Futtrelle, both at Ecorse, Michigan;
Betty Mayhew and Mrs. Dorothey Oller, both of Steubenville; a grandson,
William Mayhew; four great grandchildren Sharon O'Day and Thomas
Futtrelle at Ecorse, Michigan; Marlene and Gayle Oller; a sister Mrs.
Laura Turner of Steubenville; a brother John and sister, Nannette are
deceased.
Mrs. Keys was a member of
the first M.E. church. She was a former resident of the old Sixth ward
when she was a member of Thompson M.E. church. She was noted for her
neighberly kindness and happy personality and her death will be a matter
of regret to many fends made during a lifetime spent in this community.
Two step grandchildren, Kenneth Keenan, and Peggy Keys at Toledo

John W. Kinkaid
John William (Bill) Kinkaid, 56, of 2314 Sunset Blvd, died in his home today at 12:56 a.m. He had been in failing health two years and was seriously ill six months.
Bill Kinkaid was a life resident of Steubenville. He had been employed as assistant superintendant of maintainance in the coke plant of Wheeling Steel Corp. and had completed 40 years service. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Steubenville Country Club, BPOE Lodge No.231 and Pilgrim Lodge No. 691, F. and A. M.
Mr. Kinkaid was born in Steubenville Dec. 10, 1899, the son of the late John William Kinkaid and Mrs. Wilhelmina Walter Kinkaid.
He leaves his mother; his widow, Mrs. Louise Kindsvatter Kinkaid; two brothers, Edward and George Kinkaid both of Hamilton, Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. Harry Poole, Mrs. James Caniff, both of Steubenville, Mrs. William E. Criss of Niles, Ohio, and Mrs. Jesse Foutz of Hamilton. One brother, Elbert, is deceased.
Friends may call at the McClave Funeral Home from 2 until 4 p.m. and 7 until 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. C. A. Hofmann officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. Masonic services will be Tuesday at 8 p.m.

Mrs. J. W. Kinkaid
Mrs. Kathryn McCue Kinkaid of 2314 Sunset blvd, wife of J. William Kinkaid died unexpectedly Friday at 4 p.m. at her home.
Mrs. Kinkaid had resided in Steubenville for the last 28 years. She was a member of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Lutheran Church, Eastern Star Lodge, Steubenville Country Club and was active in Red Cross and other civic affairs.
She was a graduate of Steubenville High School in the class of 1921. She was married to J. William Kinkaid March 13, 1923.
Surviving beside her husband are her parents, Alonzo K. and Mary Shartle McCue of Meadville, Pa.
Friends may call at the McClave Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today. Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. C. A. Hofmann.

Mrs. Kinkaid Succumbs At 83
Mrs. Wilhelmina L. Kinkaid, 83, a resident for 37 years at 3901 Hamilton-Trenton Rd., Williamsdale, died Wednesday afternoon in the Valley View Nursing Home, where she had been a patient for one year.
She was born in Steubenville, Ohio, March 15, 1882, a daughter of Ernst and Alvina Melching Wolter. She attended the schools in the Steubenville area.
She was married to John W. Kinkaid, who preceded her in death on Oct. 18, 1942.
A member of St. John United Church of Christ, Mrs. Kinkaid was active in church and community affairs as long as she was able. She was also a member of Royal Neighbors of America.
Mrs. Kinkaid leaves two sons, Charles Edward Kinkaid and George H. Kinkaid, both of Hamilton; four daughters, Mrs. Harry (Katherine) Poole and Mrs. James (Helen) Caniff, both of Steubenville, Mrs. Agnes Criss, Largo, Fla., and Mrs. Jesse E. (Dorothy) Foutz, Seven Mile; 18 grandchildren; one brother, George Wolter, Steubenville; and one sister, Mrs. Caroline E. Hughes, Steubenville.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Kinkaid was preceded in death by two sons, John William Kinkaid, Jr. and Elbert E. Kinkaid, and two brothers.
Services will be conducted in the McClave Funeral Home, Steubenville, Saturday at 10 a. m. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Steubenville.
Friends may call at the McClave Funeral Home Friday from 2 to 4 p. m. and from 7 to 9 p. m.
Local arrangements were made by the Webb Funeral Home.
