Mrs. Carrie May Barr, 62, wife of Harry M. Barr of 331 South Seventh
Street, died Friday, July 23, at 6 p.m. in the Ohio Valley Hospital.
She was born in Martins Ferry the daughter of the later Ebenezer and
Matilda Obenshun Coss. She was a member of the First Christian
Church.Surviving with her husband, one brother Roy Coss of Wellsburg.She
was born in 1885 and internment date is July 26, 1948 in Union Cemetery,
Steubenville, Ohio.

Harry Merrell Barr, 65, a retired street car motorman, died of a heart
attack at 1:45a.m. today at the home of his nephew, Cody Hallenbough, at
RD 1, Richmond, Ohio.
Mr. Barr had been employed as a motorman for the Ohio Valley Traction Company for 30 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Steubenville.
Born in Mooretown, Ohio, October 22, 1885, he was the son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. John Barr. He is survived by a brother Robert Barr of
Baltimore. Md., a sister, Mrs Charles Keys, of Toledo, Ohio, and several
nieces and nephews. His widow, Mrs. Carrie Mae Coss Barr, preceded him
in death July 23, 1943. A brother and a sister also preceded him in
death.
Friends may call at the Burford Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Friday. Services will be conducted by Rev. Theodore Cord Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. (taken Steubenville Herald Star, 2-5-1951)

John H.C. Barr Dies After Long Illness
John H. C. Barr, who had been a resident of Steubenville for half a century, and a painter by trade, died at his home, 331 South Seventh Street, on December 25, at 10:30 p.m. He had been in poor health for the past three years. He was born February 6, 1860 at Wheeling, West Virginia, the son of John and Prazella Barr, both deceased. He was married to Valeria V. , daughter of David and Mary Ann Lowmiller. His wife and five children survive. Oscar N. Barr of Mingo Junction, Harry M. Barr of
Steubenville, Mrs. Charles R. Keys of Toledo, Mrs. David Wilson of
Canonsburg, Pa. Robert B. Barr of Steubenville. There are seven
grandchildren.
He was a member of the First Christian Church and a citizen of upright
character and integrity. Services will be held at the First Christian

Oscar Barr Funeral Rites Set Monday -
Funeral services for Oscar N. Barr, 57, who died at 9 a.m., Friday at his home at 104 South Third Street, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Christian Church. Burial will be made in Union Cemetery. Death was attributed to complications following a brief illness.
Mr. Barr, who had been a barber in Mingo Junction for 35 years was born in
Steubenville, on December 28, 1882, the son of Mrs Valeria Barr, and the
late John H.C. Barr. Besides his mother, he leaves his wife, Mrs Clara Barr; two daughters, Mrs Mary Tice of Osage, Miss., Mabel Barr at home; two brothers, Robert Barr, Harry Barr, both of Steubenville; two sisers Mrs David Wilson of Steubenville, and Mrs Charles Keys of Toledo. Barr---Patapsco Lodge No 183 AF&AM, will hold a special communication on
Thursday, August 23, at 9:30 a.m. for the purpose of attending the
funeral of our late brother Robert B. Barr. Paul H. Rdgers, Worshipful
Master. Robert B. Barr was born August 22 1902 in Steubenville Ohio and
was the son of Valerie Lowmiller Barr and John Barr. He passed away
August 23, 1956

Richmond__Mrs. Valerie Vienna Barr, 85, died at 9 a.m. today at the home
of her niece, Mrs. Cody Hallenbaugh of RD 1, Richmond Ohio.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Barr of Baltimore, Md, and Harry Barr of Richmond; a daughter, Mrs. Mable Keys of Toledo Ohio; her niece and
several grandchildren. Her husband , John H. Barr, preceded her in death
in 1934. A son, daughter, sister, and brother also preceded her in
death. Mrs. Barr was a member of the First Christian Church in
Steubenville, Ohio.
She was born June 14, 1864, in Jewett, Ohio, daughter of the late David and Mary Ann Purviance Lowmiller.
Friends will be received at the Burford Funeral Hme where services wil
be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Theodore Cord officiating. Burial
