for free, general history questions on Herkimer County
that do not require in depth research. 
We will search,
for $5.00, the four following items: (Charge does not
apply to members of the Society)
- Family
Files
- Marriage
notices from newspapers
- Obituary
files
- Cemetery
card file
We will search,
for $30.00, the above four items, as well as a complete
search using all of the resources in our library, and if needed, a visit
to the Surrogate's Court for wills and Herkimer County records room for
deeds. There may be an extra charge for copies at the Surrogate's Court
and Records room. (Research charge does not apply to members of the Society)

after making payment (see below) and include the following information:
- Subject

- Approximate
date of information you are looking for
- Town,
if known
- Your name,
address and email address with your request
If this is
a genealogy request please tell us as much as you know about the following:
- Name of
person
- Place
and date of birth, marriage and/or death
- Exactly
what you are looking for
Please
note: Due to the nature of our research materials, requests for information
about people in the time period 1850-1920 should be more successful. If
your ancestors only moved through Herkimer County on their way west, we
may not have any information on them. Please look at the "Society
Information" page to see what research resources we have available.
