Brad works for Ancestry.com.au, travelling around Australia and getting as much content as he can. He has been ‘doing family history’ for five years and is constantly terrified by how much he doesn’t know.

Topic : 'The Spirits of Gallipoli '
At 4:30am on a Sunday morning, nearly 100 years ago, the men of the first AIF, our First Anzacs, landed at Gallipoli. And a legend was born. Who were these men, where did they come from, how did they die, who mourned for them?
The Spirits of Gallipoli (www.spirits-of-gallipoli.com) project aims to collect as much information as possible, about each of these men. This presentation will reveal some of the information that has been gathered. They will not be forgotten.

Tom Foley : National Library of Australia
Tom Foley is a Reference Librarian in the Reader Services and Australian Collections Division of the National Library of Australia and the Coordinator of the Information Services Family History Team.
Tom Foley has worked in the library environment for the past ten years. The majority of Tom's library work has been in the Reader Services and Australian Collections Division of the National Library of Australia. In his work at the National Library Tom has had a key involvement in family history. Tom was a member of the tender evaluation Committee for Optical Character Recognition, Content Analysis and Online Delivery Services, which led to the development of the Australian Newspapers Digitisation Program.
Topic : Services that the National Library has implemented in order to provide greater access to the Library’s collections with an emphasis on collections that are of the most interest to Family Historians, their newspaper digitisation project, Picture Australia, e-resources and other digitised collection material relating to the theme of From Home to Hinterland.

Paul Parton : FamilySearch
Topic : 'Demonstrating the latest FamilySearch initiatives and how best to take advantage of them '. FamilySearch International is the largest genealogy organisation in the world. Millions of people use FamilySearch records, resources, and services to learn more about their family history. To help in this great pursuit, FamilySearch has been actively gathering, preserving and sharing genealogical records worldwide for over 100 years. FamilySearch is a nonprofit organisation sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Patrons may access FamilySearch services and resources free online at familysearch.org or through over 4,500 family history centres in 70 countries, including the renowned Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The digitising, indexing and online publishing of the 2.4 million rolls of microfilm held by FamilySearch is progressing rapidly. Millions of records are being placed online for free access every week. FamilySearch is also partnering with other family history organisations and providing access to their records through one common search facility. New tools and online lessons are being developed to enhance the research experience of family historians.

Christine Yeats : State Records of New South Wales
Topic : 'Documenting your ancestors as they slip in and out of the official records '. The talk will look at some of the typical dead ends encountered by researchers in tracking their ancestors, particularly as they moved around the colony. It will then suggest possible research strategies using the NSW State Archives.

Terry Ryan : National Maritime Museum
Topic : 'The Australian National Maritime Museum's place in family history '. Terry will deliver a powerpoint presentation, describing the Museum's broad interest in the history of migration to Australia and some of its facilities for people interested in family history
