NEBRASKA RANGERS
SONS OF VETERAN RESERVES

The Sons of Veteran Reserve is the ceremonial, uniformed military component of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. In the early 20th Century, when the SUVCW moved toward becoming more of a patriotic and educational organization, many Camps formed reserve military units - these Brothers volunteered for service during the Spanish American War, World War I and with the National Guard. After WWII, the SVR evolved into a ceremonial and commemorative organization.
The original Nebraska Rangers were organized in the spring of 1861 under the command of Capt. W.G. Hollins.
