Schedule of Events

Regular meetings of the Forsyth County Genealogical Society are normally held in the Auditorium of the Main Library Building at 660 West 5th Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.  However, some special meetings may be held at other venues.  Please check the listings below.  Times and dates are subject to change without notice.  Meetings are free and open to the public.

Note -
If Forsyth County Schools have been closed on the day of a meeting owing to weather, the Society doesn't meet.

Tuesday, April 2, 2013 - The Forsyth County Genealogical Society will hold its regular monthly meeting at 6:30 PM in the Auditorium of the Main Forsyth County Library at 660 West 5th Street in Winston-Salem, NC.  Dr. Nelson Weller, past president of the Forsyth County Genealogical Society, will present "To Publish or Not to Publish."  He will discuss what you might do with your finished research.  For more information contact Jerry Loafman at 336-923-5287.

Tuesday, May 7, 2013   -  The Regular Meeting of the Forsyth County Genealogical Society will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 6:30 PM in the auditorium of the Forsyth County Library's Central Branch at 660 West 5th Street in Winston-Salem.  Ms. Debbi Blake, Collections Services Section Manager, North Carolina Division of Archives and Records will present "Visiting the North Carolina State Archives: Using the Archives for Genealogical Research".  She holds a Masters Degree in Archival Management from NC State University.  She has done genealogical research for over 20 years.
