Ellie Ling AMORY - Ellie Laverne Ling, 92, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory after a brief illness. She was born Dec. 2, 1916, in Gattman to the late James Harvey and Alice Morrow Easter. She lived in Gattman and in Sulligent, Ala. and she was married to Stonewall Jackson Ling in 1936, who later predeceased her in 1988. She was a member of Depriest Freewill Baptist Church and she was a retired seamstress from the garment industry. She enjoyed her family and friends. Services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Roy Williams and Rev. Glen Hughes officiating. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include one son, Bobby Ling (Linda) of Gattman; two daughters, Doris Thompson (Clinton) of Shannon and Mary Price (Dean) of Sulligent, Ala.; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers; one sister; and one granddaughter. Pallbearers will be family members. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. tonight and will continue until service time on Tuesday, both at the funeral home.
