David Kirkley ABERDEEN - Rabon David Kirkley, 53, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born August 5, 1955, in Columbus to Wanda Jean Ayres Kirkley and the late Alton Ray Kirkley. He lived in West Point and in the Aberdeen area for 25 years. He married Viola Best Stoddard and owned and operated Coontail Body Shop. An avid gun collector, he was a member of the National Rifle Association and an expert marksman. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Shiloh Methodist Church near Vernon, Ala. with Bro. Mac Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his mother; Wanda Jean Kirkley of West Point; one daughter, Heather Kirkley Zanier (Aaron) of Amory; and 2 brothers, Danny Ray Kirkley (Kathy) and Ronnie Dale Kirkley, both of West Point. He was preceded in death by his father; and a sister, Betty Jean Kirkley. Pallbearers will be Joey Perry, Danny Stoddard, Donnie Richardson and Cole Archer. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Kirkley and Dale Kirkley. Visitation will continue until 1 p.m. today at the funeral home in Amory.
