Johnny Holliday ABERDEEN - Johnny Daniel Holliday, 72, died Monday, July 11, 2005, at the Madison County Medical Center in Canton. He was born Sept. 15, 1932, in Sulligent, Ala., to Newt Holliday and Kansie Bolton Holliday. He had lived in Aberdeen since 1960. He attended the University of Alabama, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma. He graduated from Florence State University in Alabama. He was a coach and teacher at Aberdeen High School. He worked in management at Walker Manufacturing until retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Aberdeen. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel in Aberdeen with the Rev. John Staggs officiating. Burial will be in Oddfellows Rest Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mary "Monkey" Holliday; a daughter, Dana Holliday Traxler and husband, David Jr., of Jackson; two sons, Dan Holliday and wife, Tina, of Madison, and David Holliday and wife, Katie, of Memphis; six grandchildren, Lindsey Holliday, Hunter Holliday, David Traxler III, Mary Brook Traxler, Abby Holliday and Ainsley Holliday. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Frank Holliday and Ellis Holliday. Pallbearers will be Haran Rollins "Bubba" Young, David Alan White, David Lee Traxler Jr., David Lee Traxler III, Daniel Hunter Holliday and Robert Holliday. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Pierce, Gus Jones, Norm Frossard, Robert Tucker, Bubba Henley, Bert Sparks, Bill Godsey, Chock Johnson, Ben Cogburn and Jim Prater. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
