Census Schedules

The federal government conducted census' beginning in 1790. The Family History library has the 1790-1920 census' for Maryland. Some are missing and the 1890 census was destroyed (however, the veteran's schedule exists). There are state-wide indexes for the census years 1790, 1800, 1820, 1830, 1840 and 1850 at the LDS Family History center library. The National Archives and other state archives also have copies of the census records and census indexes.

To search the indexes of large cities, it is helpful to know the ward boundaries.
