Looking for any information
on the parents of FRANCES MARION ROBERTSON, b. 1843 in Denton, MD, Caroline
county. He was one of three children, sailed the Chesapeake Bay for oysters,
and moved to Kansas on or about 1867. He moved to first Milford and then
to Coyville, KS where he lived in Morgan Valley and taught school in Row
Valley. He opened a grocery store and became president of the Coyville
Bank for 10 years. He went on to become a KS state senator sometime after
marrying his wife Lottie in 1873. In 1916 he was aide-de-camp to the Commander
of the Grand Army of the Republic. He died in 1926. His children included
WILL ROBERTSON, b. 1-29-1879 in Coyville, KS, in Wilson County. I believe
that FRANCES' parents probably lived in Denton for some time, and would
like to find any information which will help me find his parents and grandparents.
Thanks!

Henry Burke father of Thomas,
John and others.. He left a will at the Caroline County courthouse around
1777, but I'm not sure what State Carolina County was in. We thought it
was Penn. but there is no Carolina County in Penn. Henry was a land owner,
owned a tavern in the mid to late 1700's and owned slaves (according to
his will) Any help would be appreciated.

I am looking for information
on the family of a William MONTGOMERY who died in Dorchester County MD.
His will was dated 22 Jan 1773 and was probated 10 Feb 1773. The will mentions
his wife Nelly; sons Thomas and William; and daughters Nancy, Mary, Anny,
and Sally. The will was witnessed by Nutter ADAMS, Zachariah NICOLLS, Thomas
HALE, Cloudsberry WARREN, and John COX. The contents of his estate suggest
that he may have been a merchant or an innkeeper. Shortly after William's
death, his wife Nelly (Eleanor) is believed to have run an inn in Federalsburg,
Caroline County.

Looking for information on John
Fleharty (Fleehartee, Fleaharty or other variation of the name.) I have
record of a John Flyharty and Margaret transported to MD in 1678. A John
Fleharty had a tract of land in 1747 Dorchester Co. called "Fleharty's
Beginning", Stephen Fleharty of Anne Arundel Co. had Dorchester land called
"Good Luck" and "Fleharty's Desire". A John Fleehartee married Hannah Pennick
in Caroline Co. in 1735. Any information of how these people may be related.
Who were John and Margaret's children? Were Stephen and John related? Any
knowledge about John and Hannah's children? There is also mention of John
Fleharty's "plantation" in a will dated 1705. Massy, Stephen, Noah and
James Fleharty were children indentured in separate years around 1760.
Were they brothers? Who were their parents? ANY HELP WILL BE TRULY APPRECIATED.
There are many different spellings of this name. THANK YOU.

John GRIFFITH and Ann WRIGHT
received a marriage license on 25 December 1824 in Caroline County, MD.
Who were their parents? Were they both born in Caroline County? According

born in MD and after that they moved to Hancock and Wayne Counties, Indiana.
Ann died in 1861 and is buried in Milton, Wayne, IN. Their other children

I am researching the PAVEY/PAVY
(Peavy?) family. John PAVEY along with his brother Isaac were on the 1790
Caroline Co., MD. census. Isaac PAVEY went to KY. ca. 1801, and John PAVEY
went to Guilford Co., N.C., Jamestown, Deep River area. I do not know when
John left Caroline Co., but he bought land in Guilford Co., N.C. in 1802.
I'm pretty sure he was a Nicolite and could have been married to a daughter
of James ANDERSON (who was a Nicolite.) John PAVEY's son (Joseph?) Anderson
PAVEY was my ancestor. Anderson Pavey was born in Caroline Co., MD., 1791.
The next time we find Anderson PAVEY is on the 1820 Washington Co. IN.
census. There was a John PAVEY who died in Washington Co., IN. in 1814
which we believe is our John. The Washington Co. history books talks about
a "Pavy and Miller" who were Indian scouts and scorned the safety of forts.
This may be our John PAVEY. Can anyone help me on this family? I do have

I am looking for my g-g-g-g-grandparents
John KEMP (born possibly in Ireland or Scotland) and Elizabeth (Betsy)
BROWN (sister of Thomas Brown). I have been told that they were possibly
married here around 1800. Their sons were John Nelson B. KEMP (b.01/01/1801),
Samuel KEMP (b.Abt. 1804), and William KEMP (b. 20 May,1807)-according
to the Stepney Parish Records of Somerset County (now Wicomico Co.), Maryland.
William KEMP married Mary Elizabeth Burzetta WRIGHT in Caroline County,
Maryland in 1827. The family possibly lived there until the death of Mary
WRIGHT on 15 December, 1833. The children of William and Mary were John
Amos KEMP, Mary Elizabeth KEMP, and Harriet A. KEMP (all born in Caroline
County, Maryland). William KEMP then moved with his children to Ross County,
Ohio, where Thomas BROWN (brother of Elizabeth BROWN) lived. William then
married Hester GODWIN (daughter of Levi GODWIN of Ross Co., Ohio) and they
had kids. This is the only imfo on this family in Maryland that I know.
If someone knows the parents of John KEMP or Elizabeth BROWN, their marriage
imfo, or of their origins, please e-mail me as soon as you can.

NICHOL/NICHOLS/NICKEL, etc.:
Seeking info on Benjamin NICHOL, b. circa 1770, probably on the MD Eastern
Shore. He was very likely a member of the Nicholite faith, and was closely
associated with families named SULLIVAN and SHERRILL, both of whom turned
up with him in Wilson Co., TN in the early 1800s. There is a chance that
he married a Dutch lady named Vantilbery (van Tilburgh).
