Last Will and Testament of SAMUEL WATKINS of Baltimore county,
dated 20 July 1795, proved 4 Nov 1795


In the name of God Amen I Samuel Watkins Senior of Baltimore County in the state of Maryland being weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory. Blessed be almighty God for the same do makes and publish this my last will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say principally and first of all I recommend my Soul into the hands of almighty God who gave it to me and my body to be buried in a decent manner at the descretion of my Executor hereafter mentioned and as for forever and no more,

Item I give and bequeath unto my granddaughter Frances Guyton one negro girl named Charlotte to be her property after my decease to her and her heirs forever and no more,

Lastly with respect to my land heretofore mentioned to be equally divided between my two sons and as to all the rest residue and remainder of my personal Estate Goods and Chattles of what ______ and nature _________ not heretofore particularly willed and mentioned I give and bequeath unto my two sons to be equally divided between them that is to say between John Watkins my Eldest son and Samuel Watkins my younger son whom I hereby appoint together sole Executors of this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twentieth day of July in the year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and ninety five

Signed sealed published and declared by the above named Samuel Watkins Senior to be his last will and Testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses in the presence of the Testator and of each other.

Baltimore County to each on the 4th day of November 1795 came Benjamin Guyton Junior John Lindsey and James Rice subscribing evidences to the foregoing Last will and Testament of Samuel Watkins Late of said county deceased and made oath that they did the Testator sign and seal this will that they heard him publish pronounce and declare the same to be his Last will and Testament that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehension of sound disposing mind, memory and understanding and that they subscribed their names as witnesses to this will in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other sworn before me Register of wills for Baltimore County
