Why should our tears in sorrow flow,
When God recalls his own,
ANd bids them leave a world of wo,
For an immortal crown?
Her toils are past, her work is done,
ANd she is fully blest,
SHe fought the fight, the victory won,
And entered into rest.
Then let our sorrows cease to flow,
God has recalled his own;
But let our hearts in every wo,
Still say - "Thy will be done!"

WEISJohn23 Nov 190723 Nov 1911In Memoriam
WEIS - In loving remembrance of my beloved father, John, who died four years ago, November 23, 1907:
Four years have passed,
My heart still sore.
As time flies on
I miss them more.
They sleep. I leave them
In peace to rest.
The parting was painful,
But God knoweth best.
I often sit and think of them
When I am all alone;
For memory is the only friend
That grief can still call its own.
BY HIS DAUGHTER, MAMIE HENDRIKSEN, AND JOHN WEIS, JR.
