The following is a transcription of the 1820 Federal census of the third election district of Baltimore county. There is also an index file by Surname for easier search of this transcript. The numbers following the first name indicate the number of persons in the household in each of the following age catagories:

Note that there is a "double count" catagory with males aged between 16 and 18 also being counted in males aged 16 and under 26 years.
If you look at the actual census records you will see that after the Free white catagories were columns for: Foreigners not naturalized, number of persons engaged in agriculture, numer of persons engaged in commerce and number of persons engaged in manufacturing. In additon to the free while males and females, the census also included catagories for:
