(1) was born about 1665. He died in 1702.
He Witnessed of will James Leech of Calvert Co. on 3 May
1700.
In the 1707 Rent Rolls of Anne Arundel Co. the tract called "Spencers Search"
17-1/2 acres is listed as possessed by James Lee for John WILSON's orphan's.
Also in the land rents the boundary for the tract "Brickhead's Chance"
in Herring Creek Hundred is listed as bounded by a Hiccory of John WILSON's.
In 1707 John Wilson is listed as owner of a 45 acres part of "Pascal's
Purchase". A john Wilson listed as possessor of 12-1/2 acres and later
27 acres of the tract "Heath's Purchase" in Anne Arundel Co. Also
in the 1707 rent rolls James Lee is listed as possessor for the orphans of John
Wilson of 62-1/2 acres of the tract "Trent" located on Hunts Mount
on the west of Herring Creek Bay.
As part of the sale of "Pascal's Purchade" to John Wilson in 1700 by Thomas Tracey and his wife Susannah (Sivick-Hawkins) Tracey, Susannah Hawkins, widow
posted bond 10 Nov 1700 to John Wilson the elder. This is a fairly complex sale as it turned out there was a shortage in the land sold by Thomas Tracey and Susannah and Thomas left the province to escape debts, leaving Susannah behind with children to deal with the problems, including the shortage of acrage that was sold to John Wilson and others.
Deed from John WILSON the Elder of Herring Creek planter and John Wilson, the
youger, son of John Wilson the Elder, of AA Co., planter to Christopher Vernon
of AA Co dated 10 Dec 1701 (recorded 11 Nov 1703) for L8 That lot at Herring
Creek Town and house containing one acre of land between a creek and an orchard....John
Wilson, the elder possesses this by Act of Assembly dated 2 Oct 1683 for advancement
of trade and erecting of Towns. John Wilson by deed of Gift dated 29 May 1688,
among other things gave this property to John WILSON the younger, after the decease
of John Wilson the Elder..
