William (1) having immigrated in 1649(50) as a free adult; he was b Chichester, Sussex, England, served in the Assembly, m & had one son: William(2)

William Mitchell (2) , married 1st Elizabeth Mott, had no issue, married 2^nd Jane per land records. William died by 1685/3/6, his will recorded Anne Arundel Co., MD 1684/2/6, names sons William & John & heirs, will beqeaths "Poplar Neck" equally at death of wife (unnamed), sons to be of age at 18 years. Son Edward & daughter Eliza & heirs 200A "Mitchells's Chance;". 4 children personal prop. Teste: Henry Pierpoint, Thomas Bowles. Anne Arundel Co Maryland
