Seek information on wife and descendants of Ingham LORD, born 26 August 1881 in Shawforth, Whitworth, Rochdale, Lancashire, England, the son of Henry LORD and Emily (EVANS) THOMPSON. He emigrated to the U.S. in 1893, arriving in Philadelphia on 15 September 1893 on the S.S. Lord Gough with his mother and brother. He was an organist and choirmaster for the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Cumberland, Allegany County, Maryland, where he died 17 April 1931 (he is buried at Rose Hill Cemetery). According to a church history, Ingham started at the church in 1906, and was recruited from a church in Philadelphia. He is enumerated in the 1910, 1920 and 1930 censuses in Cumberland, living at 33 Water Street, 6 Rose Hill Avenue and 505 Rose Hill Avenue, respectively. He married a woman named Ruth W.(born circa 1890 in Maryland) sometime after the 1910 census and before October 25, 1912, when she was mentioned in an item in an area newspaper. They had two sons, John M., born about 1914, and William W., born about 1918. Both are mentioned in the February 1950 will of Ingham's brother, James Henry Lord, also an organist, who stayed in Philadelphia-- John M. and wife Jane were listed as living at 124 Babcock Street in Brookline, Massachusetts [a suburb of Boston]. I am related through Ingham's half-brother, George THOMPSON, who settled in Mount Vernon, Westchester County, New York.

Searching for descendants of John William HART, native of Germany who served in the Civil War from Allegany County and died there June 2, 1908. From census, obituary, and Cumberland City Directory information, he had three sons who left the area and two daughters who died unmarried in the late 1950s/early 1960s, and a granddaughter, Ethel HART, who was still in the area in 1917, age about 19. The family lived at 443 Henderson Avenue. Does anyone know if Ethel married, and if she had children? John W. HART is buried in the St. Luke's Lutheran Cemetery, and we were recently notified that a memorial marker will be provided for him as a Medal of Honor awardee at the Battle of Gettysburg. We would like to invite descendants to the dedication.
