There have been in the past couple of years a couple of MOONEY researchers interested in locating Jeanette DAVIDSON MOONEY and family. She came from Scotland to Nova Scotia and then finally to Allegany County, Maryland, and then just seemed to disappear. I have just located her on the 1880 census of Missouri, living in Washington County, Johnson Twp. Be happy to share info, if anyone still interested.

Juliana Sophia HOBLIZELL was the daughter of John HOBLIZELL. I would also like information on the lineage of John HOBLIZELL who was buried in the HOBLIZELL Cemetery in Frostburg, MD. John FRENCH is my 3rd Greatgrandfather.

Does anyone know of the early history of McCoole, Maryland? Specifically, about the MCCOOLE it was founded by or named after? Or the history of MCCOOL/MCCOOLES in Allegany County in general?

In researching my HOUSER ancestors, I've found records on the LDS site showing that Sybilla (ending in A) YANTZ married Adam HAUSER, 10 Jun 1791, Mt Zion Presbyterian Church, McIntyre Twp, Lycoming, Penn. I also found Sybille (ending in E) YANTZ m William Adam HOUSE in Frederick Co, MD on 10 Jun 1791. Children listed of this 2nd couple are Woody, Ezra, David and Susannah, born in Frederick and Allegany Counties. From census records in Allegany Co., MD and death records in Ohio, I believe that Adam Hauser had children named Ezra, David, and Mary, and perhaps Henry. Does anyone have knowledge of these families? I believe that there's a problem here -- can't believe that 2 women with essentially the same name married on exactly the same day to men of such similar names. I'm afraid someone has made some wrong conclusions, and the error is spreading. Any input is welcome! Thanks.
