Working on the following names: CARDER, ATHEY, TWIGG, BRANT, & LOGSDON. Richard CARDER may have arrived from England/Ireland to Rhode Island (Warwick) in the early 1600's. John TWIGG died about 1778. All have roots in Alleghany County.

Researching ACTON family of early MD. My 4th ggf Henry Thomas KIGHT b.ca 1760 married Rachel ACTON ca 1780. Her father said to be Richard ACTON; mother was Jemimah. They were in Hampshire Co. I am trying to find the parents of my gggrandfather George M. REID who was born in Md. and was married in Cumberland May 22, 1828 to Maria MCNAMEE. There is a Thomas REID listed in the assesments on property in 1813. He later was listed in the Mountain Hose Co. fire organization in 1839 as being on the standing committee where George M. REID was listed as chief engineman. Their first meeting was held in the shop of Thomas REID probably on Mechanic St. He is listed again in 1843 as being Lane director. George M. worked and lived on Mechanic St. as a wagonmaker and they raised 11 known children there. Their eldest John Thomas was my gg grandfather. Griffith JOHNSON born 1734 in Frederick? county, later to be Allegany Co, MD. He married Elizabeth THOMAS in 1759. They had 13 known children including Benjamin JOHNSON born 1760 in Frederick Co. Griffith JOHNSON born 1734, MD, married 1759 to Elizabeth THOMAS. Griffith was Capt. of Militia in Rev War, 3rd Batt. He lived near Old Town, Allegany Co, MD. They had 13 known children, including Benjamin JOHNSON born 1760 who married 2) Drusilla PERRIN. Would like to know Griffith's parents, some say Thomas JOHNSON and Catherine GRIFFITH. Looking for info on Frank MOSCA married Mary MOSCA her maiden name was DETWILER or DETWALER. Mary died in 1914 giving child birth in Jenkins, KY Frank G. died in Jenkins Ky in the coal mines, their children were bapitize in Cumberland .Maryland at St. Patrick's Church. Frank. was my father My father was bapitize in 1909. The son of Frank and Mary MOSCA was bapitized at St.Patrick's Church Cumberland Maryland.

Seeking any information about Thomas Wesley CLARK (b abt 1814, d 1882- 1900). First wife was Mary _____. Children of first marriage: James Alexander (b 1844), Thomas (b abt 1854), Charity (b 1841), John C, Sarah (b abt 1846), and Sydney B. (b abt 1847). Second marriage on 8/15/1864 to Lacy Ann DAWSON. Children of second marriage were Arnold Gerstell (b 1865), Matilda Belle (b. 1874), Andrew J (b. 1867), Olin G and Mary E. All children raised in Allegany Co, second marriage in Allegany Co. Need to know his parents, place of birth, place of first marriage and wife's full name, etc. He lived in the area of Allegany Co where many people who came from Anne Arundel Co resided - possible connection? This is a dead end!
