I am seeking information about the SLEEMAN family who emigrated from England in 1858 and settled in Vale Summit (also known as Pompey Smash), Maryland. In 1858, Thomas Sleeman, his wife (Elizabeth Catherine WILTON) and three children, William, John (Jack) and Mary Ann (Polly) arrived from Cornwall, England. Thomas Sleeman died soon thereafter, shortly before the birth of his fourth child, Thomas.
Elizabeth Catherine (Wilton) Sleeman and her children moved to Vale Summit where she married Jonathan RADCLIFFE. They had additional chidren. John (Jack) Sleeman's first wife was named Annabelle FATKIN. They had nine children. My grandfather, Harry Elmer Sleeman, was born on January 5, 1899 in Vale Summit Maryland. He was the only surviving son of John (Jack) Sleeman and Sarah HILDEBRANDT (John's second wife). Harry Elmer Sleeman married Mary CARTER. Their only son is my father, Harry Kenneth Sleeman. Any information you have regarding the Sleeman family is appreciated. Richard Sleeman
