Construction of the C&IM railroad in 1914-1915 west of South Houston Street.          


 

Norfolk & Western Railroad's class 'J' series locomotive 611 arrives in Taylorville  at the depot August 27, 1983.  
About 300 persons from the community showed up to greet the train on the Wabash Cannonball run.  
The J-611 was built in Roanoke, Virginia in 1950.
