The first settlers were United Empire Loyalists. This county was dissolved in 1974 and along with the City of Hamilton became the Regional Municipality of Hamilton-Wentworth. "Population 42,619 in 1852 and 358,827 in 1966."3 Wentworth County is located in South-Western Ontario.
