The Fresno County Genealogical Society (FCGS) offers a variety of resources to the public, consisting largely of printed, microfilmed, or computerized information, and limited research services. Many of these resources are briefly summarized below. You may send your questions concerning the items listed here or for a list of researchers write to the Correspondence Secretary of FCGS at PO Box 1429, Fresno, CA 93716.
The FCGS's Library collection is in the Fresno County Library's, San Joaquin Valley Heritage and Genealogy Center. However, the FCGS is an independent organization and not affiliated in any way with the Fresno County Friends of the Library.
A member or non-member may make a donation of books or contributions to our FCGS fund. Also, for those who want a special book, the FCGS will order the book and the member or non-member will pay half the cost and the FCGS will pay the other half and the book is then added to the FCGS collection. Members or non-members may send us a donation in memory of a loved one or friend and we will purchase a book and put in a special book label in memory of their loved one or friend with their name as donator.
The following are FCGS publications which the society sells to help fund its activities. You may mail your orders to the FCGS at PO Box 1429, Fresno, CA 93716. FCGS members receive a 10% discount. Please make your check or money order payable to the Fresno County Genealogical Society, and be sure to legibly include your complete mailing address in your message.
