Master Sergeant Abbott was a member of the 5th Cavalry
Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy
in North Korea on October 26, 1951. Master Sergeant Abbott was awarded the
Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the
United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean
Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1949. He received the
Bronze Star with two Oak Leaf clusters for his actions in the invasion
of Inchon. He entered the Naval flight training school in Pensacola,
Florida, in January 1951 where he receiving his wings May 1952.
Dickson is buried in Hinds Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery,
Nesbit, Mississippi.1

Private Edwards was a member of Company H, 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. He was captured, bound and murdered at Hill 303 near the Pusan Perimeter in South Korea on August 17, 1950. Private Edwards was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Edwards is buried in Hollywood Cemetery, Garland County, Arkansas.
Gobert, Olga Ray, Sr.

On May 28,
1950, shortly after graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United
States Air Force and proudly served his country with honors for twenty-two
years. His service included duty in the Korean Conflict , Norway, Turkey
and the Vietnam War. During his military career, he was awarded the Bronze
Star Medal, Joint Services Commendation Medal and the Air Force Commendation
Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster. He retired from the military in 1972
at the rank of chief master sergeant.

Mr. Herrin served in the U.S. Navy on the USS
Salisbury Sound.
Leonard Herrin, age 70 of Hot Springs died Friday, April 21, 2006, at his home. He was born September 1, 1935, the son of the late Omer and Myrtie Duncan Herrin. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hot Springs. He was preceded in death by one sister, Alta Howell, and four brothers, Wilson, Thurman Ray, James Harold and Billy Joe Herrin.
Survivors included his wife Margie Wait Herrin and two daughters Peggy Hayes of Bismarck and Judith Swaim

Wayne was living in Garland County, Arkansas, when he enlisted and was a member of Company L, 3rd Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division.
He was listed as Missing in Action while fighting the enemy in South Korea on February 13, 1951, and was presumed dead on March 4, 1954.
His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.

He entered the US Army on 6 January 1941
with "H" Battery, 206th CA (AA) National Guard Unit. The unit traveled
to Fort Bliss, Texas, and trained until August 1941 and then shipped out
to Dutch Harbor and Fairbanks, Alaska. After 24 months on the Aleutian
Islands, he returned to the United States and was assigned to Camp Haan,
California. He attended Chemical Officers Candidate School, which
resulted in a retired rank of captain in the US Army with USAR rank of
major. He saw service in Alaska, Japan, Korea, Germany and numerous
other based in the United States totaling 22 years.

Corporal Tucker was a member of Battery B, 63rd Field Artillery Battalion (105MM), 24th Infantry Division. On July 14, 1950, while fighting the enemy along the Kum River near Samgyo-ri, South Korea, his howitzer was receiving small arms fire. He picked up a machine gun and ammunition to establish protective fire for the howitzer, but was shot before he could return the enemy fire. He
was promoted to CPL posthumously.

Mr. Tucker joined the Navy in 1943. He served on the U.S.S. Chauncey as a 1st Gunners Mate. His ship served in major Naval battles including Okinawa, Leyte Gulf, Saipan, Tarawa, Kwajalein, Guam, Palau and Iwo Jima and was awarded numerous combat citations. His ship was present during the signing of the surrender of hostilities between the United States and Japan forces. His eyes witnessed true American History. Later he served as 1st Lieutenant in the Korean War as an infantry officer. He was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor during his tour of duty. He was honorably discharged from active service in 1952. 1
