The round-up of the Pincher Creek district stock association started on
the fall gathering on Wednesday.

R. EATON has severed hsi connection with the Oxley Ranche, and will
probably start in the ranche business for himself near Macleod.

Judgement in the BAKER et al v. Oxley Ranche case has been given for
the plaintiffs for $29,836.

COL. MACLEOD has been appointed Police Commissioner within the limits of
British Columbia.

MR. JONAS JONES met with a very serious accident at Pincher Creek on
Thursday morning. He was riding a wild horse, when the animal ran away
with him. This was a trivial matter in itself, for we have yet to see
the horse that can get away with JONES, but he collided with two horses
that were being led to water, running in between them. The concussion
broke JONES' leg, and losing all power, he fell from the horse. As he
fell the horse kicked him behind the ear, inflicting an ugly cut. JONES
was taken to MR. MORDEN's house and DR. KENNEDY sent for. The break in
his leg is a bad one. It must be a pretty bad accident that will knock
JONES out entirely, and we trust that his recovery from the effects of
this one, which might have resulted fatally, will be speedy and sure.

CAPTAIN WINDER, who has been confined to house for several days, is much
better and able to be about again.
